Fylde Hockey Club hosted a beginners Hockey Festival at their Mill Farm ground recently.
Four Primary Schools Newton Bluecoats, St. Michael's and Weeton brought children along who had never picked up a hockey stick before. They were all given the opportunity to have a go with qualified coaches providing them with an introduction to hockey which included basic skills of stick handling and ball control, mini followed by mini games. Young Leaders from Carr Hill High School provided the umpiring.
Matthew Grady, Teacher of P.E. at Carr Hill said
"It was a fantastic introduction to playing hockey with a professionally run Club. Great opportunity and experience for all the pupils involved. There was a great atmosphere and facilities at the ground"
He went on to thank the coaches and support staff for giving up their time.
